For what its worth - a note for anyone looking for the holy grail of a sharp and hotspot free lens for infrared colour - its NOT this one.
The lens is superb in regular light and works well for infrared black and white - but in colour infrared it has a major problem. The edges of the frame show a significant red colour cast - a bit like a heavy colour vignette. Not a hotspot as such but a big big disappointment.
Vivek - now I'm looking for it - I can see the same issue on the images you uploaded - just less obvious as they are all dark.
I've shot a couple of hundred frames on a Kolarivision converted A7rii 665nm IR camera - and just tried the same but with a 720nm filter on the front of the lens. Same problem - even more obvious as less red in the image.
Thought this might be the infrared holy grail - no hotspot and sharp across the frame - but not the case. Overall the humble Canon pancake 40mm f2.8 on a metabones remains my choice at this focal length.
Are you sure? Can you post some side by side samples comparing with your favorite lens?
The A7rII if it has issues, I can understand. But where do you see such red edges in my images (I will shoot more with the sun shining bright nowadays) shot with an A7?
The cover glass of A7RII is coated while that of the A7 (as in my use) is uncoated. This might make a difference because of the dichroic nature of A7rII’s cover glass coating.

Not much to shoot while in lockdown, other than these moon passes over London. Since city traffic stopped a lot more stars are visible even with the light pollution.
The first image has the easiest to see red cast on the edges.
Middle and top, bricks are red on the edges, not in the centre.
Bottom, wheels of both cars are red towards the edges, not in the centre.

These words,if followed, would bring this site to a crashing halt lol

This thread is getting a bit weird. Guys, if you want to buy the lens or if you already have done that, congratulations! It's a great lens. But you don't need to talk about it as if it is capable of taking extraordinary pictures by itself, regardless of the photographer 😃. At the end of the day, it's a lens.
If you don’t want or need to buy it for any reason, you don't have to trash it. Just keep what you have and let others decide for themselves.
Back on page 57, I mentioned that I was intermittently getting a warning that Manual Focus function was not available. I have been able to trace the issue to my new camera body or the contacts on that body. It has nothing to with the lens. I confirmed it by finally seeing that intermittent message when my trusty old 65mm APO-Lanthar was on the new camera body. Cleaning the contacts on the lens and on the body lightly with some lens cleaner seems to help. Anyway, to be clear, the issue I had was not a problem with the 50mm APO_Lanthar at all.
Thanks for the update. I will try this later. I have noticed a slight improvement after I updated the firmware on the A7R3. Generally, it happens when I am moving the aperture ring and once or twice when I’ve just switched on the camera.
Infrared & APO50 Update
The easy & quick solution to the red corners for color infrared problem is to switch to APS-C mode (Gear menu6) and to see this as an excellent 75mm lens - really crisp and no hint of shading/hotspots.
I ordered a lens from Robert White.
Where to get a lot of patience? In my country, the customs clearance procedure is very long.

Something I've noticed with this lens but not others: the AWB (with white priority) on my A7III is nearly spot-on in a majority of lighting conditions. So very close to measuring the light colour temperature with an Expodisc or a white balance card and setting it manually.
It so Anglo-Saxon-before-Wiliam-The-Bastard-Conquest.
How funny! With a name as short as mine (Bert) I did not get many nicknames. Bertrick is the only one that ever stuck.
I like the images you are making with these various Voigtlander lenses. I am beginning to notice your style of processing is creeping into my images a little bit. It is a very light touch, I think. But my composition and capture is far behind yours. Thanks for sharing
