Shotenkobo is teasing what looks like a 75mm Z21 on a story on Insta.
I will put the 75mm SPii on hold, I might prefer wait on that one, it might be an easier lens than the 50mm with that longer focal length.
I had a second look and the front glass of the 75mm Z21 is not receding into the body of the lens as the 50mm did(which annoyed me a bit) so the flares could be optimal folly which I’m all for plus it’s a 1.5, I will definitely be interested in this one. I won’t fall for the SPII yet.
I do have an Instagram machine and fired it up to have a look. Interesting. I don't currently have an M-mount 75 mm and it I seem to be spoiled for choice with new offerings.
Based on my current experience with my 75 SPII order, it will be a long time that I again order from LLL. They sent me an email on 4/20 saying that it was shipping. For one week I have been tracking the Fedex number they gave me and Fedex keeps saying they have not received the package yet. Come on this is not rocket science.
So why send out a bogus ship date when they had no intention of shipping the lens on 4/20?

They used to keep stock in the US, but a new release is probably coming from China. Usually takes a week or so to get out of China, land on the west coast, then go through Customs. The FedEx number should activate once it gets done with all that. Sometimes the FedEx tracking for international packages doesn’t work until it’s practically at my doorstep.
LLL sent out an email offering the F1.9 double glass Dallmeyer 50 replica in two formats a normal and low contrast version, delivery end of the month, chrome only, but two contrast versions. They do say they are going to use the rigid model for a series of lens, This is fine with me I am used and a fan of my original Leica rigid, and I have the SPII LLL version. I ordered the standard, I can always circle back for the low contrast version, I think I want to see a test.- and more tests to keep Fred busy and it will be interesting if Fred can eventually compare and the you tubers will also kept busy with their demo copies/gifts....Only problem I see is I will now have three different chrome "rigids" to reach for and maybe more if they carry on with the plan of a rigid based lens family, I am going to have to color code those lens cases.

So is ‘rigid’ just a term for the outer design and the internals are different? I was thinking rigid was a moniker for a specific lens all this time.
until LLL made the SPII I would have said rigid = the collapsible summicron of the 50s made rigid... technically correct, but they adopted the housing for an entirely different set optics for the SPII and now for the Dallmeyer. So they say in their blog they are making a family of entirely different optics in the same "rigid" housing. I am use to and like my rigid so I am ok with this. It is a very classic and classy design and in chrome it looks good on everything, BP, black chrome, chrome, and safari. There is probably an economic advantage to using one housing design at least I would guess, and it is a good design.

I have this problem with a couple of my Cosina lenses: a 28mm and a 50mm that look so similar that I accidentally brought the 28mm to a photo shoot when I meant to bring the 50.
It's interesting to see LLL take this approach of using the same housing for different optics. Blackmagic Design has been doing this with their Ursa Mini camera over the years, using it as a development platform for new models with higher resolution, in-house sensor designs, and other innovations.
I have lost count- this is a comment I get from others... but I can think of several vintage 50s I would like in old screw mount from 40s and 50s, and add in the all the newer ones...... so my answer is to paraphrase the Beach Boys I'll have fun fun until someone takes the CC away. Kidding aside the last lenses I would give up would be my newest 50 apo summicron and my Leica vintage rigid.
Anyone have an idea how this 1.9 will compare with the Z21 1.5 I already have?

I had a play with the new LLL Dallmeyer standard version. Quite contrasty and very sharp in the middle and very well built. I am going to wait to see if they make a titanium one but if you like chrome I wouldn't hesitate.
Hey folks. How bad is the flaring on the LLL 8 element? I know the original also had flaring. I'm just worried about shooting a roll and finding a third of the pictures are washed out from flares. Is the collapsible better?

Flaring is identical to the original per extensive comparisons over at LUF. It's a feature not a bug
Collapsable is the same optics as non-collapsable.
