People that sold their A9 will be out buying the R4 or another A9. Not enough to make the current A9 prices drop though. Seems to me it just keeps the A9 as a current 3500.00 option.
So what is the retail price? I'm surprised that it is 24mp. The rest of the refinements I'm sure are nice and maybe more room for upcoming firmware updates to offer future enhancements. I don't think it will be much a price increase over the A9?

Wait, it's still got 1 UHS-1 and one UHS-2 card? I read that assuming it just has two UHS-2 cards. Sony smoking that dank weed with this camera. Colin F wrote:

Same MP and worst of all, same memory cards. What a huge disappointment.

No, you can just use both types of card. UHS-2 in both slots

Two SD-II cards according to the video, but they should have used an XQD or CFExpress.

That's a bummer, they're pretty much only going after the professional sports market which I'm not in.
Still the best camera on the market imo, but I was expecting more.
I have a feeling this is a camera very specifically created for the 2020 Olympics and not much else. If Sony can get a good showing there among Canon and Nikon they will have 'made it' in the all important home market prestige.
Thank god because that would've taken some buffoonery since they'd have to change the cards of the A7RIV chassis that they're stuffing the A9 guts into. Wanny wrote:
