I’m now z6 + D850, so I face a similar dilemma. I am planning to keep the 50 glued to the Z6 and 24 on the D850 for most of it. I think it makes sense to have the more croppable sensor on the wider FL.
I’m not sure what I’ll do for portraits and longer teach stuff with the 135 F/1.8 and 200 f/2.

I believe you. you have a good eye for sure. I have just been motoring through edit sessions and haven't had much play time.
now you have me questioning which body to assign 35/85 for a wedding this weekend.
may do z7 85 for static portrait and snipes.
and z6 24-70s2.8 or 35/50 for times when there may be action
haha yea, I don't ever shoot landscape or nature, so this was me just killing time waiting for my couple to show up.
and I got lucky there, don't try tracking butterflies with a Z7 at home.
it's not super crisp in Focus, but I was delighted,
Finally got this lens into the garage studio, did some photos yesterday of a friend's soon-to-be 1-year old. Below is a sample.
EDIT: I must say, as I'm editing this shoot, I've just crossed the barrier from using the 85/1.8s over to using the adapted 24-70/2.8g. The difference in color is very stark. The photo below only had a slight touch of vibrance added and a bit of contrast added, along with a bit of saturation only on the iris....and that's it. The colors just pop. When I started looking at the 24-70 photos, before I realized I was looking at another lens, I was trying to figure out where all my color went. I'm having to add about +25 saturation to the 24-70 photos to get what I'm seeing out of the 85.
Thanks, love to see two SOOC samples of that color difference?

After trying to find a couple of samples, I think that maybe having the bright orange pumpkin possibly affected things a bit, but you should be able to see what I'm talking about. No edits...auto-WB has about a 200 degree difference between the two.

Top is the 85, bottom is the 24-70.
Very nice shots! I have a feeling it is to do with the inbuilt lens profiles for the 24-70/2.8G. I also have the 24-70/2.8G and all my shots are muted intentionally until I add my profiles to suit.
Thanks, yea definitely see it, the 24-70 is a bit more muddy as I’d call it. These new Z lenses really sing. JPuckettPhoto wrote:

For you if you're curious about looks and sizes of them. To me, S-line primes are almost identical in appearance and shape. I accidentally turned off my Fuji 18-55 lens so the picture was blurry. This is why having IBIS is a huge advantage for persons like me.

I think this set is very unique. I let 50mm go but plan to keep 35mm and 85mm as long as I keep Z system.
I’m seriously considering selling my 24-70/2.8g and using the proceeds to pick up the 35/1.8s and 50/1.8s. At some point afterwards, I’d also like to have the 14-30/f4. Basically, have everything 85 and under on z-mount, then rest of my lenses on f-mount for now (70-200, 105, and 200-500).
