This is a stunningly gorgeous image, of what is starting to feel like a horrifying scene… is that a clearcut, or fire area, or… ? Unusual to see a barren sand dune in front of a full misted forest.
Thank you! The foreground is a cindercone volcano I was inside of in the middle of the woods, the ground is basically small black pumice. Mountains to one side and a painted dune valley leading to a lake on another. Crazy place!

Wow that looks like a very unique place! Where is it? Those are some more compelling photos. Are some of those shots stitched panos, or sooc? That middle one looks like an aerial photo.
I have recently been looking into this lens having realized it's versatility for video, and just purchased one today, and then was pleasantly surprised to find this thread (which I'd been looking for lately but for some reason couldn't find).
Your photos are making me excited to use this as a landscape lens as well.
It’s Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California. You’re correct about the lava field shot, it’s a stitched pano.

Also a good choice for when you really don't want to be changing lenses, like sloshing around in a kayak on Lake Superior (image at Pictured Rocks, Upper Peninsula of Michigan).

Second time owning this lens. Keeping it unless Sony produces something even better that still has OSS. For me, it is such a versatile, capable hiking lens. Handheld
