p.1 #1 · Are ZEISS Polarizer Filters the Same as Sony's Polarizer Filters?
I'm looking to pickup a polarizer filter for an 85 GM and I wanted something that would cut a stop or two of light (so no high transmission). Sony has two models, one of which was just recently launched alongside the 135 GM. It looks like only the new one has the ZEISS T* coating. However, ZEISS has it's own filter which was originally the same price as the new Sony model, but it's currently on sale for the price of the older non-T* coated filter from Sony. I'd imagine these two are exactly the same, but the Sony is marketing their new filter as being optimized for their GM lenses. Should I believe the marketing hype or just go with the Zeiss or maybe some other brand?
