Number 1 was shot at 14 and I did crop a bit. No corrections were done for distortion. This was processed in Capture one.

0.33mm, very similar to the Kase filters regarding thickness

How practical is it to use rear- mounted graduated filters? You'd be very limited on placement of the horizon.

I wouldn't think they would be too useful, but at least they are preparing them in soft grad form.

I'm horrible with picking out filters. Which ones should I pick? I figure I'll need the ND16 for a 4 stop reduction in light for video, but which ones would people suggest for landscapes? I'm hoping I only need to get one more.

Pledged for two. Will probably get the 6 stop and 12 stop. My kase filters haven't broken, but I feel it's only a matter of time, and this should be both more robust and much easier to install in the field.

I pledged as well, I limped along today up in the state game lands adjacent to Ricketts Glen today. I really missed no having anything between a bare CPL and the ND64/CPL combo. We took a little detour to Adams Falls on the way up, and it was early enough (not that early, it's a good drive for me) that we just saw one family. We stayed clear of each other. At the state game lands we saw no one until hiking the fire trail out, just a young couple.

I heard yesterday the lots were full at Ricketts Glen and it got backup out to 487. While I find that hard to believe, I can't imagine it would have been a real safe visit with that amount of people.

I don't think they will produce linear polarizers. The LPR filter stands for Light Pollution Reduction.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to work with the Nisi filter solution. I took the setup out for the first time for waterfall shooting yesterday. I rearranged my larger backpack to allow me to keep the Nisi holder attached to the lens, while attached to the camera. As well as attached to the lens when I have one of my other lenses mounted. So I didn't have to removed the holder at all the entire trip. With the Aurora setup it will be even better, as I was limited in my ND options with just the Nisi CPL and ND64/CPL.

All in all, it was lighter than what I would have had to deal with had I taken my primes in the same range. Spending the time getting my backpack setup to deal with the mounted filter holder was definitely key though.

Yeah, I don't keep it mounted, but it attaches so quickly, it basically is as fast as any other filter. I just pull it out of my bag, pop off the rear cap I bought for it on Amazon, secure it to the lens, and pop off the Nisi filter cap. Done. No slower than pulling out my regular filters, unscrewing the stack cap, unscrewing the filter from the other filters in the stack, and screwing it on to the lens, then screwing the stack cap back on my other filters. In fact, it may be a little faster.

Hi Tim,

Excellent. That looks familiar.

I hope to get back there sometime. When I do, I anticipate carrying 3 cameras each with a mounted lens in a smaller Mindshift Gear Backlight 18L. Hopefully I won't flip over and fall in again and have my tripod start to float down the creek.

I can honestly say that was probably the most memorable trip to Ricketts Glen! I can still picture the whole thing as if it were in slow motion.

Glad we both made it out of there in one piece, no worse for wear on the body or equipment!
