I think I'm out . It's just to big for what I want. Going to grab a Batis 18 and just keep my CV 12
12,18,24,35,85,135. That's my new path. I can mix and match a lot of parts
Thanks for all the testing. Great work
You may want to wait and see what Zeiss releases next. There are rumors for a new Loxia release next month.

Okay someone just see if a filter actually fits inside the hood. I'm curious how big that is . I just listed my CV 12 and Cv 21.
Guy- Very curious to hear why you chose to sell the CV 21 as I'm very interested in buying one

Hey guys,
just received a new A7r3 and 2x sigma 14-24 2.8 and a 16-35 gm for testing.
i find it very hard to evaluate these lenses as it appears missfocus or have another issue.
for my testing so far i found at least one copy of the 14.24 to be very good but i experienced a strange issue.
when shooting at 2.8 im able to get tack sharp results through almost all of the frame. but when stopping down to 5.6 corners get worse ?! how is that possible?
Im considering if there is an issue with the Sony IBIS which may blur the corners because there is much more movement to the edges of the frame then in the center.
i will give you just a quick example of what i am seeing, though you need to pixelpeep i guess.
this is a wetransfer link with 2 images in jpeg, one @2.8 and one @5.6.

Hope you were not on a tripod.
My copy is very excellent at 2.8 and better at 5.6.
Like i think it should be.
Great lens!
I can we transfer you an example if it can be of some help.

I have the Sony 24 1.4 which is very close to the CV 21. I’m after a AF lens wider than 24. Just bought a Batis 18 again
So CV12 , Batis 18, Sony 24, want to buy the 35 1.8, Rokinon 85, Sony 135
Guy, maybe I misunderstood you. You sold your CV 21m and you put your CV 12mm up for sale in anticipation of getting the Sigma 14-24mm lens but you bought a Batis 18mm? What am I missing?

I was going to sell the CV 12 and 21 which sold yesterday to get this zoom but than I watched a video and thought it was just too big. So decided all zooms are out keep the CV12 than buy a wider AF lens than my 24.
So landscape stuff I can use the Sony 24 which I did not do before. My combined kit
CV 12
Batis 18 AF
Sony 24 AF
Sony 35 AF going to buy
Sigma 45 I'm selling now
CV 40
CV 75
Rokinon 85 AF
Sony 135

Here is a sample with the Sigma 14-24/2.8 @14mm and f/7.1
The Lee 4-stop Gel was used in conjunction with 16 averaged images for a 8-stop ND effect. It worked great.
It was very windy so I replaced the moving bushes and trees with one of the 16 exposures. The clouds seemed to be pretty much static but I still got some movement with the strong ND effect. The gel will pretty much live inside.
Vignetting, CA and distortion were not corrected in post.
Could you post a before and after comparison between the Sigma 14-24 "bare" (without any filter) and with the NiSi Combo 6-Stop IR ND + CPL Filter showing the same exact scene? (without the CPL effect even better)
I wanted to see how much color shift the NiSi filter does to the image. (grass, sky, etc.)

Simple I bought every Samyang lens the only one worth buying has been the 85 1.4 which I still have. Outside that they have been returned or sold. I'm not trying to save money. I'm a working Pro so gear needs to be very good and reliable.

Here is a revised assessment of the Nisi CPL/ND64 showing it has a noticeable warm color cast. Shot in overcast conditions and CPL orientation had no noticeable effect. Processed through CR using its 'daylight' white balance preset. Previously I inadvertently imported the raws using 'as shot' which is my default starting point for white balance, and therefore drew the wrong conclusion about the color cast

Here's another test of the Nisi CPL-ND64 color cast that might give a better representation of what to expect in more typical use. Both shots processed through CR custom WB, temp 5000 tint +10.

Question, are you using the Nisi CPL? If so, is it the landscape version with a warm tone or the pro version with no supposed tone? I just ordered the set with the pro version ( $5 less) and am curious.
Thanks for doing this work!
