Thank you very much, K-H.! No, she actually brings the mouse to the nest, where she raises 2-3 chicks and she feeds the mouse to the chicks. I am sure she eats some, too at the same time. The nest is well hidden high up in the tree.
Towards the end of the day, the male doesn't call the female and instead, he brings the prey to a tree fairly far away from the nest and devours it there. The female, if she is on the look out from the highest tree near the nest, and she sees that, will fly to the tree where the male that first nibbles on the mouse. As soon as he sees the female approach, he gobbles the mouse up. It is kind of comical but it was really fun to watch and yes, to photograph as well.
