I was too impatient and ordered the Wimberley a few weeks ago. Was wanting to wait for the Hejnar so I could also order his 500PF foot and save on shipping....love the Wimberley but maybe I should have waited.
Robert, do you already have the Wimberley also? If so, would like to hear your comparison once you get this one!!

Yes Geoff and will compare when the Hejnar gets here. Hey, it's OK to have more than one foot I have 3 different ones for my 500PF.
In the meantime a couple of pics of Kris' work (mine is a little different, he know I use the Op-Tek Uni-loop as security blanket and there is a hole to accommodate 1/2 of the Uni near the front edge).

Yeah, Chris sent me a bunch of photos and a few weeks ago sent me photos of the first milled ones without finishing...I'm sure you must have got those also.
I think his 500PF foot is the only one with some decent length to it so I really should have waited for this also as his shipping charges are a bit expensive to Canada. I do think the Wimblerley design is a little sexier with the way it angles away from the lens attachment area. But I'm not trying to win a beauty contest either

Agreed, the Wimberly looks mighty fine (for a lens foot!) But function over bikini
And he told me at the beginning I'd get the length I want. I like that he's using the big screw
AND the side security screw.
BUT will I be able to get the Wimberly off? Loc-tite can be a devil ha!

Geoff, it appears you are liking that 200-600 on your a9. Did you pull the trigger on the a9ii?
No A9II yet. Still debating it but want to digest some experienced user reviews. It will cost me about $3K CDN to upgrade if I sell my A9.....not sure if the improvements are worth that. Will probably get one once the first rebates hit and/or when some new FW hits to do something special. The A9 doesn't miss much, so other than the ergonomics and weather sealing I don't think some possible AF improvements are going to make enough of a difference to me.
I took a few shots of the hawk they brought out who had an injured leg and is on the mend. I'll be darned if I can recall the species but I know the smart guys here will help me out. Old age has is not good for the brain cells
