Seen today in the back yard, the poor, neglected, and rarely photographed House Sparrow. If it was a rare bird we'd all be striving to capture images of it.

Not on my end. I had to treat this one with NIK. Thinking of getting Capture One, as I'm suspecting that the free "Edit" software from Sony might be quite limited.

Being new to Sony, and using the "old" CS6, my present process is as follows:
Cull in Sony's free "Viewer"
Process Raw file in Sony's free "Edit"
Save those changes to the Raw file in Edit, then export as a 16 bit Tiff
Open Tiff in PS CS6 (with NIK as a plug-in), do all edits required, Save As full size JPG at max quality.
Delete the massive Tiff, but save JPG and Raw files.

There's an alternative method of converting the Sony Raw file (which CS6 won't read) to a DNG, and process that DNG in ACR, and then proceed as above, but then I'm left with the dilemma of keeping both Raw files.
Not sure how DXO Prime would fit into that workflow, but I'm all ears.
But I'd love to see one looking like Colin's beauty.
