Nice Ronny, I like the colors in the background of the shrike
My first photo session with the A9 II and 200-600 was a month ago today, i got a nice show by a couple of Great Crested Grebes who were having a fierce fight over territory

Wow what an intense series...Fantastically captured. Was either Grebe seriously injured from the encounter?

My first outing with my new purchase of a A9ii and the 200-600mm lens. Coming from shooting Nikons, what a different experience this is. I didn't have the best of lighting on this morning.

Thank you
Both Grebes looked fine but the fight was really violent and one of them could easily have lost an eye or so.

Also curious what AF settings you guys are using for swallows, I shot some the other day and had a pretty good success rate in Wide with Real Time Tracking. Consistently blown away by how well the tracking can manage to keep up with something that fast and erratic.

So far I've been using zone and it works ok. I will try wide too. I have to admit biggest challenge is to get tiny fast flying bird in frame.

Tanks mitesh, terrific image.
Is that A9 200-600mm currently your favorite combination?
Have you experienced any issues with it?
How it it weight-wise?
TIA.

Hi K-H,
It’s really nice to hear from you! Hope you’re doing well. Thanks for the compliment. Yes, I do very much enjoy the combo and it has performed flawlessly for me. I used it extensively last winter at Bosque, and today was my first opportunity since then to shoot. I shot probably 75% of today’s images with this lens and the rest with the 600 GM. Ease of weight handling is of course relative, but I find it quite comfortable for the most part. The framing flexibility of a zoom and the closer MFD are two big advantages over the prime, for the way I shoot.
