Here is another frame from my SoCal trip, this is the female bird that was free of bands and more active. She wasn't as pretty as the make with a few displaced feathers on her head, but did gave a few good poses on this perch

shot with the D5 and 600 E FL ISO 2000 f/4 at 1/3200sec hand held processed with C1P hope you like it

Spectacular background :-) You get the subjects anyway, but this is a lesson for me in getting the background right. Thanks a lot for sharing.

The BG was green and red pickleweed that grows on the rocks
