I think Sigma will always have the upper hand when it comes to the "pop" of the images due to f1.2 and vignetting (I'll have to check but I think it's even bigger @f1.2 than the GM @f1.4).

Love the price now ...
I bought it just before GM came out for what I thought was a really good price. It is going now for even $100 less than what I paid. Oh well!
It's a fantastic lens and absolutely worth it at full price.

This lens isn't going anywhere, it'll sit next to the 30-40 year old collectables I still use because it just has something.
Absolutely worth carrying the weight around.
I think this was wide open, but cannot remember. 1.2 or stopped down somewhere to 2.8, probably stopped down as it had no visible CA and it's a very high contrast scene with almost pure white on black edges and no trace of cyan/magenta fringing that I would have had at 1.2.
It was shot way over, I must've hit the dial and didn't notice, I pulled it back in post and apart from the flare at the top, it's all recovered well.
Again, the character this lens has, the way the subject seperates from the back wall, the transition zone, it's beautiful.

The Sigma 35mm 1.2 Art DG DN is an amazing lens which imho never got the credit it deserves.
Resolution at f/1.2 everywhere in the frame is the same as it is at f/11.
This is the only lens I would even try to take a shot like this without a tripod (which is what I did here).
