I want to get it, but with black friday around the corner I feel I should at least wait and see if some places have any worthwhile deals.
I did some quick research this past weekend (I just bought a refurbished 28 Art) and it seems like Sigma's standard Black Friday deal is $100 off. There's also Greentoe. I believe someone here said they got one for about $1270.
As to the box, I don't know, but I suspect not. I've bought refurbished lenses and cameras from Canon, and refurbished monitors from Benq, and none had the original box. I suspect that's to combat profiteering. Accessories were always included, though.
Edit: well, my refurbished 28 Art just arrived and it's in the original box. Color me surprised.

I知 probably going to be selling my 35 1.2, which may surprise many as even I find it to be one of the best lenses I致e had both technically and image-wise. So why am I selling it? I realize more and more that 50mm is the focal length I feel most natural with. I have my 50 1.4 ZA which, when checking my LR metadata, is the lens I use more than any other. So I知 going to patiently wait for the Sigma 50 1.2, keep using my 50 1.4 ZA with my A7r iv, and have just ordered the SL2 and Summicron SL APO 50 to see how it compares (I used to shoot the original SL with the Summilux SL 50). So there will be a pristine 35 1.2 coming up for sale very soon
Oh, and if anyone in the NY/NJ/Philly area wants to meet up to compare the two systems at some point, feel free to contact me and hop on over with a few SD cards and we can take both the SL2 and a7r iv out for a spin with their respective 50s.

Ok. so when I woke up this morning I had to really think about this (I could buy a lot of things with the money saved from the SL2/APO 50) and I started playing around with one of the photos I took yesterday. We were out in the city, so it was just a casual shot using Eye-AF. The first is the whole image, the second is the crop I made in post. I'm not going to get into the whole crop vs full image discussion, but the crop is definitely tighter than a 50 mm equivalent. I just made some quick adjustments to the image. I've included links to the full size images as well. Maybe I need to just spend more time with the lens. It really is incredible.
The one thing that I can't figure out, though, is why eye AF grabbed focus on my Mom, when my daughter was closer to me. I had to use Sharpen AI to fix the focus on my daughter's eye in the cropped versions, but at a little over 21MP (cropped photo) it's still a decent file for printing.

Does anyone know of another lens hood that will fit? I was walking around NYC yesterday and would have loved a hood more like the 85 GM or 135 GM. I知 not really into street photography but carrying this lens around in high volume areas makes me want to keep anything and everything away from the front element.

I can visualize a variant of that photo where the model would be holding those two lenses in his hands. But then any hope of levitation would be lost
