Here's a few shots that are f/1.2 and f/1.4 with some light editing, but no deliberate CA adjustments. Uncropped.

Looking good @poses. Hope you're liking yours as much as I do mine.

Another couple of snaps.

Got it on my shoot yesterday, I really like the rendering.
Crazy sharp for f1.2 lens wide open. Huge amount of vigneting, a bit of distorsion.
Bokeh is very smooth and fits my style perfectly.

This lens produces the cleanest bokeh I've ever seen from a 35....... now back to having a dillema, stick with 2 separate 35's, a small and a fast, or consolidate to the 1.8?

Tough life changing questions need answers

Lots of time around the pool this past week. Clearly.

The shot of my daughter running off the inflatable was one of five shots in a tracked burst. AF tracked accurately through her entire jump. This thing continues to impress me.

I own the 40mm F1.4. It is a repackaged Cine lens. Ungainly, unbalanced and rock heavy. Georous pix though wide open-edge to edge. Truly the most clumsy lens I have ever had (except for the Nikon 200mm F2.0 in the day).

If I want small and light in 40mm then I give up 1 stop and AF with the (Nikon mount) CV 40mm F2.0. A pancake lens that’s smaller/lighter than the adapter. So the 35mm F1.2 is likely an improvement but then how could it not be? Stlii huge, heavy and unpleasant as a walk around.

So if you’re not using F1.2 switch to something with more utility. I adapted my EF 35mm F1.4 (MKI) with great success. Of course we all, still, are waiting for a moderately priced, small F1.8/F2.0. For $750 I will just keep my 1.5 decade old Canon.

To be honest, the new Sigma 35 hasn't been anywhere near as much of a pain as I imagined it might be before I got it in my hands. I've basically carried it everywhere with me for almost two weeks now and it has yet to become tiresome. As others have also stated, the balance on this lens is much better than any of the adapted Sigma lenses prior.

When I feel the need to go back to compact or light, I still have the VM 40/1.2 with Techart Pro or the GM 24 that are my other favorite options that are somewhat in the focal range. I almost also forget that I still have the Sammy 35/2.8 and a Canon 40 pancake in the closet.

For the time being though, this Sigma is my favorite lens I have owned since moving to Sony (although a very close race with the GM 24).

Side note - FWIW, I was previously adapting the Canon 35/1.4 mk2 as well as the Sigma 35/1.4 and I prefer the balance of the Sigma 35/1.2 to those setups.

The 35FL is critical for me so after Fred’s review I bought the CV 35mm F2.0 APO.

Same bridge in my photo above. This is a railroad bridge over the Chattahoochee River in my home town West Point, Georgia. The town derives its name as it is the most westerly town in Georgia that is still on the West side of the Chattahoochee. Approximately one mile farther downstream (south) from this point the West side of the river becomes the Alabama state line.

Taken at 1.2 - it was getting rather dark, especially in the forest.

It is really good to here the feedback about its size and weight in the real world,
This lens ticked every box apart from its size and weight

Do we know what it's coma performance is?

Great composition and the low angle makes your model appear longer/taller. Looks nice with a 35mm.
