I have 3 tripods, 20 year old plus Gitzo Reporter Studex, A Gitzo G320 and a Giottos MT8170 Pro Series Carbon Fiber tripod. The G320 is a heavy tripod and is even heavier with the Manfrotto Pro 469RC Ball head and Wimberley Sidekick on it. I use this only for my D810 with the grip on it and my 200-400/4G VR II and it makes for a heavy load to hump around over the shoulder but it is rock steady. The Giottos MT8170 is used for landscape photography and the smaller 4 section Gitzo Reporter Studex is basically for travel when necessary. I need to get 2 lighter weight CF tripods as I can't drag these set ups around as easily as I use to 20 years ago.
I have two - a full-size benro mach3 mated to a g2 head that I’ve been very happy with, and a travel-sized benro which is serviceable (and quite light) but not my favorite due to it’s less expensive head.

I don't get it
Can you let me in on the joke?!
Hi Bob,
"What does 42 mean in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
The number 42 is, in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything", calculated by an enormous supercomputer named Deep Thought over a period of 7.5 million years. Unfortunately, no one knows what the question is."
I've only got 2. The POS 3Pod I got from Adorama used dept described as "fully functional" (that came with only 2 legs lol) and a Benro Travel Angel. The Benro isn't half bad for my limited use. Thought of going Feisol but I probably use a tripod 1-2x a year on a good year.
My girlfriend got me a free K&F Concept tripod last year for Christmas... and I haven't really used it yet. I was planning on using the monopod piece next time we were going to a zoo, but I lost a connecting pin. So far my experience with tripods has been love-hate haha.
It's 'off-brand' but the quality is really nice and trying it out at home with the Canon nFD 300 2.8 on it worked great.
I have one. A 12 year old Manfrotto 055 ProB which I love. Yes it's aluminium, but it's sturdy and have a great hight. I recently exchanged the locking levers on the legs since they had cracks. It actually annoyed me since I haven't used it that much. It was delivered with a Manfrotto 3 way head which I have always hated, so last year I stumbled upon a great offer on a beautiful small and in one word awesome ball head from SIRUI. The small E-10. I just love this ballhead. So much in fact that I am starting to look for SIRUI tripods :-)
If you are interested in a small ballhead you are welcome to read my thoughts about the SIRUI E-10(I am not supported by SIRUI and bought it myself). Please bear over with my English since I am not native English speaking. (I always welcome language corrective comments) 😊😉
That's why the SONY A7RIII are such a perfect camera😊😉 42 MP

RRS is seriously into shooting sports now and I just got this tripod setup for my MPA BA. It uses a special ballhead which I'm finding works fine for cameras as well as long range shooting so this is all I've got now besides a table top unit.

That is pretty cool. Does that clamp onto the Picatinny rail?

No, an Arca-Swiss rail on the bottom of the rifle stock.
It is indeed pretty cool, I like the inverted ball design. The Arca-Swiss P0/P1 also are like this. I wonder if it works on anything but an RRS tripod (like a Gitzo systematic or other tripods that have a removable flat plate).
I have just one. After having a heavy metal tripod I decided to invest a once in a life time tripod. I bought a RRS TVC-24 with a quick release BH-30 ball head.
Feisol CT-3442 + BH-30 for carry-on weekend trips without telephotos
About to buy a second one for telephotos and longer landscape vacations that fits in a checked bag.
I own just one Sirui right now. Nice tripod. I will buy a Gitzo traveller series 2 once things normalise.
I tried series 1 and 2 travellers. For some reason the series 1 wasn’t so confidence inspiring. Its too high for its own good. But series 2 was nice and sturdy and not much weight difference. I sold it long back but i will buy it again. Sounds line a tripod for life.
Any all weather light tripod that is highly recommended?
