Thanks bud. Im going over images now. Im finding some vignetting that's heavier than the CV 40, CA that goes to about F4 but very sharp even on Big Bronco and infinity F4 is amazingly good. It also beats the CV on center at 1.8. Less distortion than the CV 40 as well. Color looks really good . No comment yet on Bokeh. Build quality Meh Not impressive but Manual focus is not bad.

If you can look carefully at purple fringing/axial CA, then that would be great. I have seen some samples that show it showing up even still at f/5.6. The metal flashing and metal on the lights at Big Bronco ought to be a very good test.

Its very strange Steve . My CA test with white letters nothing shows up at all. So lets call that a fail

But Big Bronco the lights on upper left F4 but metal straps 2.8 and lights inn that truck up above I shot F4 as well and its there in headlight.

So right off the bat you need to be careful outside. Or try taking it out in post

Distortion is really good and kills the CV 40

Here is BB at F4. Interesting lens it really is pretty good overall. Oh my hood is not a issue. I put shading on the camera and it does clean it up but that maybe only the LCD viewing file not the raw. Vignetting to me is not a big deal. C1 cleans that up really nice

Im going to keep it . Looks to be a good event lens for me as i don't have to worry too much about CA. The vignetting is heavy so that i will have to address but i can build a style in C1 and apply it

Agree. Kids soccer but I will get on it. It survived BB and did quite well. Its a sharp little lens I put CV 40 in that BB test too. I know we have many CV 40 users here and this lens held its own but they are different beasts

I’m taking it out for a ride today too, will be looking for pumpkins and strawmen in a small village nearby. See you guys tonight. Agree with Fred, Bronco has to have its own thread.

No but I did order mine from Henry's in Canada, it took about a week to get here. $642 total including shipping and currency conversion, no customs fees or taxes. North American warranty to boot (warranty card says US & Canada).

Ouch - that vignetting is pretty bad... maybe this is really a 40mm lens?

P.S. You can still get it for about USD 600 from reputable Canadian stores:

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have some observations about this lens. There is a movable element inside the lens ? When you change the position of the lens you feel its movements. The second thing - applying the ear to the lens you can still hear the silent sound of the working AF engine. Even when working in MF mode. Do you also have such experience with FE 35 1.8? I checked the second copy in the store and it was similar.

Sound is linear motor and it is fly by wire which means MF is electronic and uses the same motors as AF.

This only happens when the power is off. I believe it is a floating element in the lens that does this, as it does in some other modern lenses. Completely normal.

In fact, the element inside is only movable in the lens off mode. It seems normal and this type has it. Just like the sound of the AF engine. I was wondering because nowhere in any review I didn't find information about it.
