I agree with build quality of Hassy is exceptional. Ergo and menu system are 2nd to none as well, (I feel menu system of most Leica and GFX here are as good and might even more functional at some aspects) LCD is bright and big. Having said that, I don't think it offers noticeable better file than Fuji GFX, they are more similar than different IMHO. It is a plus minus thing to me.
Fuji build as good but a little old school, it shapes like contax645 if you load EVF with tilt adapter, operating remind me of D700, big and assured. It feels old school loaded with modern tech and electronics. With TL1 EVF adapter, I can't think of anything more fun to use than it in recent years. I have to admit, I only adapt FF lens or manual MF glasses and sold all native GF glasses as I don't plan to take it for landscape or travelling and for travel and AF, there are many better systems out there.
For pure fun, slow paced shooting like landscape, city, architecture, I would also pick Hasselblad 907 with DB over anything, it is a very cool tool/gadget. For daily use, it will rank low compare to any other systems for my personal pleasure. The EVF/LCD/shutter delay, (E shutter delay is huge in additional to 1/3 sec readout) No focal plane shutter, lousy AF, lousy manual focus by wire implementation in Lens. (45P might be the real fun lens which I didn't have. )
I have been there and done that. I look forward to see a focal plane version of X1D III or IV in the future, though I do hope they redesign their AF motor based on latest AF tech on their X glasses. If I have V system, with 907 or not, the digital back seems a big plus for normal and short tele shooting, big, slow but fun.
Pick a system is personal. None of above matters as long as you enjoy it and use it ...Show more →
I fully agree with that last statement!
FWIW, I shoot the X1D II pretty much exclusively with the native lenses.
It would definitely not be my platform of choice if I was mainly looking to adapt (non-Hasselblad) legacy lenses.
About the AF, after reading and watching many reviews online I was convinced that that this camera did not autofocus at all but it does...
The whole AF race actually leaves me a bit bored: (Sony,Canon) > (Nikon,Fuji) > (Panasonic,Leica) > Hasselblad.
I would like Hasselblad to improve its AF in the future, but in the meanwhile I have gotten used to it and it will do for what I use the camera for, fully aware that the AF of my Canon EOS R is significantly better...
