Matt you remind me of an incident in Vietnam when working with the local indigenous people, they had there version of an Asian smores(no candy just lechee nuts and sugar cane) so my company clerk got me some marshmellows and I introduced them to smores....The kids LOVED them!! The Hershey candy company made a tropical chocolate for WWII and beyond. I always carried a few bars with me for the kids, some liquor/cigarettes for the tribal elder(male) and a bottle of perfume for the elder's wife!!! The male may have been the tribal elder BUT he not always ran things.... There was a "protocol" I adhered to when entering a native's village. It proved to be a most fruitful endeavour for my 2 years in combat.
