I can’t speak to airplanes but the (focus) keeper rate shooting bursts with this setup was 9/10 and these trucks were very close and quite fast. My framing trying to keep up with the quick pan was more of an issue than focus.

I'm shocked how well it behaves. This is the AF-S version, I picked one up with a bad AF motor specifically for adapting. Here's another example of its beautiful render, such a nice balance of sharpness and falloff. Nailing focus with the MF ring isn't too bad either.
