Picked up a 20mm f/1.8 S lens yesterday at a local shop. It focuses very close and seems to be another great f/1.8 prime. This will complete my prime set for now with 20, 35, 50 and 85 f/1.8 S.
Here are a few closeups, first one wide open, the others at f/2 on Z6-
I have to say after shooting with the Z6 for 4 days, I am impressed in its use for mammals. I ran 2 Z6's and a D850 for all 4 days. Cant say enough praise for the Zeds
More pics to come, but have to set aside time for post processing. These are just quick pics to show its use
Steve. Thanks for the kind words
First two Elk pics were with the 500pf. Moose pic was the Z6 1.4 t.c. and 500pf. I'll post pics later with the Z6 and 70-200E. Incredible combo using the ftz adapter. Had great success with the 300PF as well
For animals on the ground, The Z's are fantastic
While I was out shooting with my D850 and 500/4e FL + TC14e iii, I had my little Z50 with its 50-250mm kit lens with me just in case some birds might strayed a bit closer which some did.
Here is 50-250@ 250mm, F6.3, 1/1250s, iso 250
Great shot! That Z50 with the 50-250mm kit lens is pretty phenomenal. I bought the kit a while back and love it.
Bought a used 70-200 f4, because there's likely no chance the Z mount is shipping before my road trip in less than 2 weeks. I wish I hadn't sold 2.8E back in February. Still - the price was good, the lens is pristine and I can likely just sell it for what I got it for (or keep it as a light hiking alternative).
The longer this weekly newspaper exists , the more lies and half-truths it produces !!!
Maybe a natural law.... hahaha
However - I don't like the architecture either ( though there is definitely worse there...).
But this has nothing to do with this otherwise good picture - so please don't take this personally !!
Lovely garden shots, jrscls. So ironic that I came into this thread to post a couple macro shots today too. I recently picked up a gently used 105 2.8 Macro (Micro) lens in the FS section here.
There were no birds out during lunch today, so I grabbed the 105 & headed for the bushes. I'm sure I might do better if I used a tripod & figured out a way to steady the bush, but it was fun regardless.
These were shot using a 1.4x TC.
Disclaimer: I have zero macro experience, so its a definite work in progress
