p.1 #1 · Double cave & arch at Campiecho, Spain

It takes wading in the ocean, water nearly chest high, to get to the Arch at Playa de Campiecho with high enough tide for the cave to be filled with water. Once you get there, however, the feeling and the view are simply amazing! Taken at sunset during the Workshop I led in Atlantic Spain in 2017 with Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters.

Thank you for viewing, best regards

@Vieri, are you more scared for your life or camera gear on such a composition?

Looks like fantastic spot. I bet it was fun to be there and shoot.
I'm not 100% sold on composition. The two openings of the cave are fighting for attention when I look at the image.

Great image and even greater effort! Going chest deep in the ocean to to get into a cave with waves coming in is way above and beyond!

@01Ryan10 I was more worried about not getting a great shot!

Hello Artur, yes it is a great location and lot of fun going in there to work! About the composition, I was after the tension between the empty window and the full window, which seems to have worked - of course, whether you liked or not (probably not) that's a completely different story

Just to clarify: in case someone wants to go there, the trickier bit is that you have to start walking with ebbing tide as soon as the tide allows you to pass around a couple of rocky outcrops, with water almost chest high (depends on how tall you are, too, of course). Then, by the time you arrive outside the cave, the water inside is not that high - perhaps above your knees. Of course, if the sea is rough there is no way you can even think about trying. So yes, you gotta be very careful when wading in the ocean not to fall in the water (gear is in the bag at this point), but unless you try to go with rough seas there is no danger for you other than falling in the water. That would mess your camera gear pretty badly though

Hope this helps! Best regards,

Vieri

Absolutely wondrous, from composition to color to raw, unbridled emotion.

Beautiful photo but it's the same one from a year ago from you and in your list of wins, even the description

Thank you! You are right, I just checked and I apologise about that - thing is, I changed my website's photo directory structure and have reposted a couple old favourite photos to make sure they were still viewable. If needed, I'll take this thread down, no worries.

Best regards,

Vieri

Looks similar to a shot in one of the Roger Moore James Bond films. Great shot, thx for posting.
