Wife and I took a road trip this last week which unexpectedly took us into Colorado. Luckily I had an A9 and 24-70GM along for the ride (very limited cargo space!), as the scenery was amazing.
This image was shot at a roadside overlook at mid-day with harsh overhead light. There was no way to postpone shooting for better conditions as we were on a schedule driving several hundred miles each day, so with no reflectors or strobes to help (at least the asphalt was a lighter gray) I had to try to balance it all out as best as possible.
Roadside scenic overlook somewhere between Vail and Aspen, CO.

During this absurd heat wave and trying to find ways to stay entertained I asked my little girl to help me out with some pictures. She asked me if she could be “sassy” and I said “sure?”

Maybe done often, but this works. Did you time it with the wave? Because it works really well. My eye starts on the foaming water and follows the arc up to her head. Really great.

Thank you very much, Vinny! And yes, we did time it with the wave. I fired a sequence of some 10 images and this one is the peak. The two frames before this one were actually great, as well. I should have posted them as a sequence. Oh, well.
Vinny, your daughter is adorable and you really did an excellent job capturing her expression. And look at those eyes; wow - keep up the good work!

Some snaps from last Friday on the beach with my friend Janesa. Just after work so I only had my a7III and the humble Sony FE 50 1.8. All shot at f2.2 in different natural lighting. Some pictures are IG-like color graded, some more natural.

Man, Bondi Icebergs Club. Originally a much wider composition, but I ended up cropping the image substantially and processing to emphasise shapes and textures. Sony a7rii + Canon 135mm f/3.5 LTM
