Just wondering if anybody else had similar issues with AD600 Pro batteries. I have bought 3x AD600 Pro, full sets with batteries.
All working 100% for last 3 months. Then bought another AD600 Pro. Battery was DOA. Got battery replacement which was again DOA . Replacement is on the way. In meantime 2 another batteries stopped working, they won't charge, LED indicators on batteries is not showing anything either. So basically out of 4 batteries 3 are faulty .
I do have 4x AC power adapters to keep me going but still 3/4 batteries are faulty within 3 months. That's just bad, very, very bad. Strobes are still going very well but this issue with batteries is completely changing my opinion about Godox.
No issues here. Two 600s and a spare battery. Been using them since the release. What’s your charging/use/cycling pattern like? Have you shot with the strobes while the charger is attached? Have you drained them to 0? Do you shoot with them full? Store them in a cold environment? Whatever the case, good luck.
Edit: I should note, I have the Adorama Flashpoint versions of the 600Pro.
I store them in dry, warm environment of office place. Charge them fully and then bring them to warehouse where we have 2 studios. When i only do clearcuts (products against curved white wall) i use AC adapters instead of batteries because they won't last whole day. You can't run them from charger. When i do lifestyle photoshoot then i attach batteries so don't have my designers/stylers tripping over cables and i can move strobes easier.
Well it sounds like you’re doing everything I would. Sorry you’re experiencing this, and I’ve got no explanation for you. I’ve had all Flashpoint products for, hmmm, 3+ years now, 15 batteries total, no issues. I’d heard back in 2014 there was a run of problems with a batch of AD360 batteries and it was eventually cleared up. Reach out to Elv at Flashhavoc - he’s your best bet on pinning this down. I’d also consider buying batteries from Adorama and see if you have better luck.
I had the same issue with the AD400. Replacement worked fine, though. Adorama doesn’t want the dead battery back. I asked if I could get it repaired. They forwarded me to their “Flashpoint Specialist,” but I never got s response after two follow-ups. So, I have a nice paper weight that has the potential to explode .

Im going to contact seller and ask for replacements. I got them all from Ebay. When there was an issue with first battery, seller just got me to buy another battery from another seller and sent me founds for it. He did not ask for battery. Probably have no use for it.

Looks like im not only one with this issue. Already found some videos on YouTube. It might be another batch of faulty batteries on market .

I'm sorry to see this - did you try emailing the Flashpoint Technical Team directly? [email protected]

Yes, that's who I was directed to. I didn't get a response after two attempts. I just sent another follow-up (the last was in December). It's no big deal, but I'd like to at least know how much it would cost to get a battery repaired.

Can you please email me and I will make sure it gets to the correct person: [email protected]

Just letting you know that the Flashpoint contact got in touch with me and gave me a shipping label to send the dead battery back. That's all I wanted, really. Thank you, Helen.
I’m glad I was able to help. Thanks so much for updating!

Hi,
I have just had the same issue with a brand new Godox 600pro with a dead battery, I have been back to the shop 6 times as no one could figure it out, 1 new light and 2 replacement batteries DOA just not charging. They have finally solved it and it is the battery going into a deep sleep mode from the production line, something about saving the battery while it is on the shelf. They opened up the battery and there is a reset button or something Godox has a 5-page instruction list on how to do this. What a process so I hope no one else has to go through the same drama as I had to borrow and return their 600B which I was glad to give back after using the 600pro and now at least they have a good stock of spare going WB26 batteries.
Hi! Do you happen to have a link to those instructions you mentioned? I would like to see how I can "wake up" a seemingly dead AD600 Pro battery. Thanks!
I'm going through the exact same problems with 4 batteries.
2 AD400Pro
2 AD600Pro
I'm wary of recommending these strobes anymore because they're costing me a lot to buy replacement batteries and Adorama won't refund me unless I return the batteries which isn't possible because the shippers I use refuse anything li-on shipped via air.
Thank you for sharing this post. I was looking at these as a possible cordless studio setup - but I'll stick with the Paul C Buff units. Plug in isn't a big deal in the studio and i have batt packs for the field.
Hopefully, in the near future, Buff will come out with their own line of battery powered moonlights and the reliability and customer service will be much better than with the Chinese products.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the LINK by now. I’ve been shooting with all Godox stuff for years and haven’t had any issues with my batteries. Mostly… I’ve heard people have issues if their lights fall into not being used for a long time and they leave the batteries attached to the lights. The batteries suffer from this, and should be periodically charged if you’re going a long time without shooting. Optimal charge is somewhere between 20-80%, with about 50% being how they should be stored between shoots typically.
