I�ve never tried photographing birds before, but with a new Sigma 100-400 and a sprained ankle, seemed like the perfect time to sit in the backyard by the bird feeders and give it a go.

This robin was puffed up to make himself look big and intimidating, trying to scare off a Steller's jay. It didn't work...

It was hard to find a neutral patch to sample from that didn't result in a big green shift. I think the revised image looks a little better now.

Took my new A1 out for a spin in the back yard the past couple of days!

Shooting from about 6 feet away at f/2.8 was a little too ambitious with the 70-200mm and I couldn't get the hummingbird fully in the focus plane!

Taken with a Robus Monopod and a ProMediaGear GT2 Tomahawk gimbal.
