thanks Dave for viewing and commenting. Yes I was fairly dirty and wet by the end of the day, and exhausted by the constant crawling on the sand, both of my elbows were scrapped raw. BUT it was a most rewarding and exhilarating day

KD, you did very well with the low angles here I am sure Red knots are fairly common (2nd half of May (in breeding plumage) and late October. They are always in good numbers (at least a dozen) in all my encounters over the years

Wow! This is a photo documentary in itself. Exciting! I especially enjoy the images you deliberately exposed to emphasize the action of the water flying off the skimmers.

This is a fantastic set, full of pizazz. Great shooting angles, light and action. The portraits are intimate and the behavior fascinating--up close as it is. The facts that you present in your introduction provide awe-inspiring context.
