Well, I'm almost too ashamed of my bird collection in 2018 to even post, but since this is a Nature & Wildlife forum, I'll post one decent quality bird image, and an invertebrate.
This first one I like because the light was decent and it allowed a lot of detail to show up well.

I really liked seeing this little critter on the beach, as it was something I'd not seen previously, the colour is striking, and so are the fine details. Velella velella is just plain cool.

Lovely work by all! A real treat to scroll through the posts.
Cheers, and happy seasonal greetings.

I think it was brilliant to limit this to one or two.
I still have 19 days to get inspired, and go bag my own for this submission. Must get up early tomorrow!

Great shots everyone. I'm a poor judge of my own work. This was popular photo. I'll try to find one more.

I pick this as my second shot. This is one of my favs and wants on our trip to Costa Rica. I wanted a clean background without the sky. They tend to fly high or very close to the trees. I was happy to get this shot. Seeing the Macaws in the wild is something special. This was handheld with the 600mm and 1.4x on our last morning on the Osa Peninsula.
