Regarding the L-plate and FTZ... I have the Kirk L plate and their PZ-130 "Universal Camera Plate for Nikon FTZ adapter". The PZ-130 on the FTZ does not interfere with the L plate when mounting the FTZ on the camera. But the PZ-130 does interfere with the tripod head clamp when it attaches to the L-plate. Basically, if you mount the FTZ with the PZ-130, you can clamp to it, but not to the L-plate on the camera.
Edit: Note that when the PZ-130 is removed from the FTZ, the FTZ does not interfere with the tripod head clamp when it attaches to the L-plate.

Incredible variety of photography and all within a couple of weeks.
You can make a pin hole camera sing and this single post would suffice for anyone doubting Z7.
I liked the fox portrait, but the 58 1.4 shines like a dream in your hands!
