p.1 #1 · Streams of Smoky Mountain National Park

Last weekend had the pleasure of visiting Smoky Mountain National Park. What an amazing park! Didn't get to see the fall colors but the streams and water falls were absolutely stunning. Everyone had warned me that its going to be packed and they were all right on the money. Every time I saw a nice location to shoot, there were tourist like me or there were loads of photographers. Found this location just before New Found Gap, there was a photography tour group and hikers at this location. Pulled over on the side just because saw a lots of cars and nice golden canopy. Took 5 to 6 images here as there was line of people wanting to get under the bridge to shoot. So it was rush rush and trying to avoid people was another challenge. Anyway, here are 2 images from that location.
Appreciate you taking the time to view and would like to get some feedback from all of you.
Thanks,
Parul

Love these. I'm up in GSMNP and Pisgah right now and I can feel your thoughts about the (lack of) fall color. There are pops of color here and there, but still looks to be early.

Thanks Jim, try to do the loop on Historic Nature Trail loop road. This is the loop that will take you to Grotto falls and Thousand drips. It’s an excellent location and you won’t find as many people, there are some really nice location on the loop with moss covered boulders and streams. With the recent rains it should be really nice. Enjoy the park.

The second one has a pleasant feel to it. Too bad you were rushed by the crowds.

Thanks Rajan, it was definitely a nice location to photograph. There was a line of photographers to get to this spot and then there were people all over the place. To much pressure 😔😔. Did the best I could under the circumstances. Thanks for u r feedback.

Parul, these look very natural and represent the view well. It seems the digital era has made photographers out of the masses and everyone wants to get the shot. This is our new reality. The Smokies are an overvisited Park especially in October. But there are great shots to be had and I'm glad you made the best of it.

Thanks Andy,
You are absolutely right about how digital era bringing on masses of photographers! What was really hard that there were families at the huge log at the far end of the stream, u can see it in the first image. And everyone wanted their image on that log😔. Was lucky to get one with a clean view. On the second one I just moved to the left and avoided the log and people.
Amazing park and would love to return another time! Thanks for u r feedback.

I'm headed that way this coming weekend. How is Pisgah? I've never explored there. I'm having second thought's on the Smokys, partly because I've shot there a lot, and the crowds this time of the year. Also, there are a few workshops happening there next week.

Would recommend Tremont Road as well. Usually not quite as crowded as the rest of the park and some truly great shot opportunities there usually.
