Thank you. The 24/1.4 GM performs very well at MFD. It's even sharp with a Marumi 3+ achromat close-up lens. It's a very versatile lens.
Interesting: because it's good at MFD it raises the question whether for closer work using a +3 you should focus the lens to infinity or MFD (MFD will get you a bit closer but not hugely closer of course)
With non floating element lenses I always set the lens to infinity and choose the achromat to get the focusing distance I want (with some slack for conveneince)

I don't think it matters much and another benefit of performing great from close and far is using AF with an achromat. I tried it with the Marumi and it nailed focus every time in AF-C.
Excellent IQ here at F8. With no real distance scale, I did some manual focus bracketing to get this one that has excellent focus across the frame. Quite a bit in from infinity, handheld.
This lens has the smoothest bokeh I've ever seen from a fast 24mm lens. I really like that Sony pays so much attention to this. A lot of the GM lenses render smoother bokeh than the alternatives from other manufacturers.
Some shots from today. I really love the rendering and colors from this lens. Best fast wide I've used in years and just crazy sharp across the frame at f/5.6.
