Just finished testing all sorts of stuff. No flare and had sun directly on side of frame. Hmmmm
Time to buy kids. This maybe the best GM yet
Thanks for checking this thing out further. This is awesome news. Keep it coming!
UPS says Friday for mine. Can't seem to come fast enough.
There is some part of me that almost hopes I don't like this more than my Fuji 16 as my walk-around. That is the 24 I have stayed with primarily for a good while now as it is legit enough (and light enough) to keep me happy. Starting to get the feeling that it may be seeing more closet time come Friday. lol.
I know already I have a excellent well corrected copy. I also threw in the Loxia 25 on Big Bronco. I’m guessing it’s really about a 23.5 mm lens but that’s a quess at this point. Need to get this all on computer. Fred needs to start a official test thread. I got a vignette, mid range BB, inifinity, bokeh and bokeh balls tests and I tried a flare test.

Guy, I would go ahead and start a big bronco thread if you feel you have a good well centered copy. I am getting my 24/1.4GM today but usually I don't get lucky at first try... However, if it's a good copy, I will post some infinity tests and compare it to the Loxia 25 as well.
Just picked up my 24 GM. Aperture blades are noisy. Ken Rockwell (yea, I know...) says they are silent. Are yours? I am worried as I do a lot of video and in camera mics will pick it up. Edit: only chatty in stills mode as aperture opens and closes but silent in video as aperture stays stopped down

I tried mine last night setting at f/16 and focus, it's less noisy than the AF motor on the 50/1.4. Really had to put my ear close to the lens to hear.

FWIW, mine is pretty noisy.
Edit: just checked against my 28 f/2 (only other lens I have handy at the moment) and the 24 is no more noisy than the 28.
