Little Ca on the CV wide open. Look at left lights and the sunstars are more defined in the Loxia throughout the aperture range too. Lets keep a eye on that. Obviously the Loxia is just killer BUT for 700 dollars ill ride with this baby all day long, very respectable for the CV

Im going to go to F5.6 but not seeing that major of a change in the corners it does improve but not sure it gets to the 25mm level. Okay we are pixel peeping here no question

Especially the Loxia is stopped down and the Voigtlander is wide open at f/3.5.

Exactly Fred and the Sunstars do get a little more defined at 5.6 and you need to stop at F5.6. Im starting to see diffraction at F8. Did you see that too
I mean you can shoot F8 all day long but it is starting to go backwards on you. Looking at the F6.3 in the corners thats where i would stop for the purist corner.

With my copy, the extreme corners were not far behind the Loxia 21's either, which is outstanding for such small (and cheaper) lens.
The mid-zone is where the Loxia 21 was noticeably better at wider apertures but starting at f/8, they got very competitive.
Although my 21/3.5 was centered, I still want to compare it with another sample just to make sure about the mid-field. Having said that, I tested at other distances and I don't notice the same mid softness I see at infinity distance.

Im loading the Raws for Big Bronco right now and folks can look into the mid field here as well but I may see it very slightly. Now I'm about 50 feet from the wall so its not infinity.
My opinion I always felt the Loxia 25 is better overall than the 21mm. Im holding on to mine until something can stomp it which i doubt will ever happen. Besides that my copy is killer good

Man, that Loxia is crazy sharp in the corners. Center, I'm not seeing much difference. The CV21 looks great, and size and cost can be a big plus for some.

Not much if anything is going to beat that Loxia 25 in the corners. For the CV21 to be even close is a freaking miracle.

Okay Im happy and impressed at the same time. Hope that helped the fence hangers
Mine was already on pre-order, but this has only made me more excited about the lens. Curious to see if FM's second copy shows any difference in mid-field performance at infinity, but my copy should reach me (from B & H) by the end of the week or next Monday, so I'll test for myself then.
