Thank you! This is very useful. I can order the CV21 (f1.4 though) and still justify my Laowa 15mm f2. That's still a huge difference.
I also was concerned with replacing the FL of 24mm (as in FE 24-105) with a 21mm prime.
But 21mm is just pleasing to my eyes and sometimes 24 is just not wide enough

I've regretted sending my review copy back to the CameraQuest but was able to buy it today. It looks like it sat on the shelf just waiting for me.
I will be using it to complement my Sigma 14-24/2.8 when shooting against the light or when packing light.

I took this lens before trip to Italy earlier in the year. I wasn't really intending to use it as I also had TS-E 17mm with me, which I intended to use most of the time (and did). But, I did take random photos with this little lens, and regret not taking more photos with it. Upon return from Italy, this lens is attached to my A7R3 pretty much permanently for street shooting. The one oddity I found is any dust (either inside or outside the glass) becomes visible even at wide apertures (I guess due to lens construction). I can even see it at 5.6, and it's pretty obvious at f8. I have to clean the lens more diligently, and do more cleanup in PP.
Here are a few photos from Italy, more or less minimal processing ...

OK Fred, I can answer my own question now: I see you've already sold the Loxia 21 and have gone with the Voigtlander 21 f3.4 for contre-jour shooting in tandem with the new Sigma 14-24.
Also, the Photgraphy Blog review of the Sigma 14-24 here: https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/sigma_14_24mm_f2_8_dg_dn_review, shows some pretty nasty sensor flare with the sun in the frame - this seems to contradict your own findings??

I could actually do with a Color-Skopar 18mm F3.5 aspherical lens for 'up close and personal' mountain travel. In addition to this gem, I hasten to add. I won't eulogise it further, the assembled images do that well enough. OK, one little thing - it's an extraordinary rainforest lens.

When a number of people find they often remove one Voigtländer lens in order to mount another, you might wonder if we have reached the point where we need a compilation thread.
Not so much to replace the individual CV lens threads, some of which are large - but to complement these existing threads.
Should Fred stop by and agree, I suggest:
'Voigtländer Discussion and Images'
Leading to: no more resurrecting the brand's weird Harold lens threads (e.g. 35/1.4, 50/3.5); compare 40/1.2 and 50/1.2; discuss fast/slow lenses at same FLs (21mm, 50mm); the APO series (50-65-110); losing CV images posted in the FE thread; prospects for the future.
They are a company that has made more lenses for the E mount than the Loxia and Batis ranges together. It's likely they will continue onwards, let's hope so. And another reason is their lens releases are often shrouded in secrecy. Others talk, Cosina acts.
If we did not have Juha, none of us would be any the wiser. You can't read more than a brief summary about them anywhere else either - Voigtländer lenses are the best kept secret in the industry. And they are ours - exclusively - for many of the great modern ones. Cosina chose wisely when they decided on Sony to host their best lenses.
