Since Canon is starting the pull out from Australia, Sony doesn't feel any competition.

Just a heads-up: this lens can develop back-focusing.

Mine did about 9 months in and it's gone back to Japan to be fixed.

There are two UK cases I know of; one did it from the outset and I'm not sure about the other.

Over 10m with the 1.4x TC the focus was about 3cm out.

560mm, f4, tripod mounted, OSS off, no sharpening in post

Thank you for that info! I will keep an eye out on mine but so far have not noticed anything out of the ordinary

That was a fantastic few days, for sure! Tough shooting conditions with the heat haze and harsh light compressing the shooting window to basically 30 min after sunrise and before sunset, but still a blast!
