True, true, but that is an 800-1600 lens....I'm greedy and want a 400-1600 lens

Plus, two Sony 2xTCs is probably the same size as one Canon or Nikon one so it wouldn't add too much to the lens length...making an 800/5.6 gives you another behemoth lens to lug around and personally I'm done with those

Didn�t you spend $10k on a 50mm Leica Noctilux? A 400mm lens for $12k is significantly cheaper on a �per mm� basis
