My friend David Turko, who is an amazing photog, called me in March this year and said that he was going to be spending a month in the YNP and the Tetons in May and asked if I wanted to come down there for a week or so.Since I had never been to YNP I jumped on the chance. While we were shooting there we met with a wonderful couple Paulie and Barb, who were from Bozeman and came to the park very often. They actually gave us great company, nice tips and places to shoot and shared their hot meals with us. Thanks for the hospitality, Paulie and Barb. Hope to see you soon, either in the NE or in YNP.
There were many firsts for me, grizzlies, black bears etc. here goes.

1. Sow with 2 cubs - parental protection (this one is for you Socrate :))

2 Tree swallow

3 some YNP landscapes

4 - 2 elks

5- cross fox (I think)

5 some more Landscapes

7 -Cinnamon bear

8 - squirrel

9 famous Mormon Barn in morning light

10 Black bear sow out after hibernation feeding

11 - barrows goldeneye

12 Badger family - supposedly very rare to find these by the roadside

13 - mountain magpie

14 - buffalo

15 - sandhill in the sky

16 - surprised elk

17 - grizzly cub

18 - yellow bellied marmot

19 Bison reflection

20 - brewers blackbird

21 black bear cub - there were 3 in the litter and they were so much fun to watch

22 -distance shot of bison shaking off the water (massive crop)

23 prong horn being hunted by 2 coyotes - could not see the conclusion as they went out of the view, but was amazing experience

24- Mountain raven

Stunning shots! Well done. I have never have visited Yellowstone, but always wanted to. We have a lot of the same wildlife here in Alberta, but Yellowstone has the free roaming bison. They are just being reintroduced to Banff National Park, so hopefully we will have wild herds up here again in the future. There are a lot of bison in Elk Island National Park, but that is a very large enclosed park, so the bison can't roam freely beyond the park, so not quite the same thing.

Just incredible! That first shot with the grizzly sow and cubs is fantastic. As I'm scrolling through I'm thinking WOW what a great trip you had. Every shot is special, then I get to the Badgers and I couldn't stop grinning. Great job catching them. I don't know how many hours I stood on the road baking in the sun waiting for them to appear and I never saw them. I'm thrilled that you did and shared them -thanks.

Lovely set of super variety. Pronghorn encounter must have been thrilling. Liking the swallow shot, the hot springs, and barn a lot.

I’m sure this is only the opening salvo....Many many wonderful shots....bears and badgers are especially wonderful. How you held on to these so long is either a testament to restraint, work getting in the way or a backlog of recent images that seems almost endless.

Super photos 😀. That's a Belding Ground Squirrel at the end of your first post, they live in colonies or packs, and communicate with each other.

thanks Gordon. Thanks for sharing the information on Banff and Elk Island NP. Hopefully one of these days I'll make it to these amazing parks.
