Update: TechArt Pro firmware v6.0 fixed the issues I was having. It performs very well now and EyeAF works in AF-C.
The firmware was designed to fix the hunting issues with the A9 and A7RIII and it really fixed it!
Something else to report is that I'm seeing a ring flare with the CV 50/1.2 when shooting against the light. I have never seen this on the 40/1.2 E-mount.

So I wanted to add here and bold statement but I like it better than the GM 85. That would be a interest shot with same magnification and see how it looks. Here is what I like, it’s not only the bokeh itself and the blur but it’s rounded bokeh and to the eye it actually looks normal and as it should be. A lot of lenses have onion rings and cats eye shape. Question do you see the world with cats eyes or onion rings. Absolutely not and why I like rounded and no onion rings. It looks normal to the brain.
Sure there is a little cats eye towards the edges but it’s very muted and not obvious.

Looks like a reflection of the lens elements
I never saw this ring flare with the CV 40/1.2. It's puzzling since they have almost identical optical design. One possible culprit may be the "silver" metal thread which could cause more reflection than the black metal.
BTW: I was not using its hood and perhaps it will be needed to avoid this issue.

I see mechanical vignetting with the 50/1.2 (cat-eye specular highlights). I think same level as 40/1.2...
With the 85/1.4GM, there is much less mechanical vignetting.

Damn it Fred! I'm going to have to order this lens straight away. The Australian imported told me on Friday that they were receiving their first batch today (Monday). Didn't have many left though, let's see if I'm not too late to the party...

i've managed to get it with the m-mount version of the cv 40/1.2:

So what's the conclusion so far? Should I sell my 40/1.2 to pick up this lens + TAP ?
Honestly I prefer manual focusing it but I'm very impressed by the performance of TAP's FW 6.0. It fixed the hunting and "AF pumping" with the A7R3 and A9 and I'm getting great accuracy even in low light. Most of the latest images I posted were using TAP and they are tack sharp.
It also works with Eye AF in AF-S and AF-C modes and that's something many will value.
Selling your CV 40 for the 50 is just a matter of FL preference. If you prefer 50mm over 40mm, the decision is easy.
