Didn't get chance to do infinity test shots today, light was horrible outside. A couple more from the M240 along the back roads of Illinois... (not SooC)

Just a reminder since we are dealing with a F1.2 lens and doing a lot of testing there we need to be making sure we have EFSC off. Myself I just shoot all this in electronic mode instead of mechnical. My worry is some of this CA we are seeing could also be affected by EFSC given the effect that does wide open
I’ve been shooting on an M, definitely CA wide open, to be expected though I’d say at 1.2 on a $899 lens
Ken Wheeler aka TAP uploaded a video yesterday to confirm that this is the best 50mm was on earth.
It seems another stellar lens from VC/Cosina but unfortunately not for E-mount

Totally agree it’s actually pretty good that it goes away without any correction by 2.8. With some adjustments it should clean up okay. I have not tried to correct for it yet. My one worry was with EFCS on at 1.2 given it’s weird bokeh effect it could possible enhance it more. This is worth a test for sure, not sure it would but something to try .

A lot of folks don't know about the ill-effects of EFCS when using fast lenses in combination with short shutter speeds. It's definitely a bokeh killer!
To clarify, if you are shooting at shutter speeds faster than 1/2000s with a fast lens like the 50/1.2 wide open, you must turn EFCS "OFF" or use Silent shutter instead. (electronic shutter)
I tested the 40/1.2 vs 50/1.2 side by side and Longitudinal CA correction is very similar. It's very noticeable wide open and gets tamed starting at f/2.8.
Tomorrow I will test the 50/1.2 Nokton with the Techart Pro adapter and see how AF performs. I remember the Zeiss ZM 50/1.5C working really well with TAP.
I would ask here that those posting photos kindly identify the camera body used with the lens. For those of us with Leicas, it is unfair to be trying to evaluate a Leica-mount designed lens on a non Leica-mount camera, without at least having that understanding up front.

Thank you.
I have used a large battery of Leica R lenses since I purchased my first A7r camera back in December of 2013. In fact, since Leica offered no digital body at the time (not including the digital back for an R8 or R9), this was my first and only digital FF camera body. I did not want to use these lenses on a Canon or Nikon body. So until the release of the M240 and later the SL and the M10, I had no other options for a FF digital body to use my R lenses. I also have a number of M mount lenses including 3 Leica and 1 Zeiss which I use with my A7r cameras. My WA M mount Leica (2 lenses) and Zeiss (1 lens) lenses are normally used on my A7r thin sensor Kolari Modded V3 camera.
Perfect Fred. Love the bokeh and fall off. I actually asked Fred to shoot a shot like this. Turned out exceptionally well and exactly what I thought very well behaved wide open without the funky stuff
