Just ordered a VM 40/1.2 and looking forward even more now to trying it out after seeing your shots in this thread. I’ve also recently acquired a VM 28/2 Ultron that I’m having fun with on my Z7.
How do you like the lens on Z7 so far? I am interested in the VM 28 and 35 1.7 Ultron on Z6, couldn't find any sample images in this post, I might have missed it.
My wallet is bleeding. This lens show quality. Look that MTF and those samples, especially watch CA, focus transition and Bokeh performance. This is a high class glass and should carry a APO label. By inspect its design diagram and compare to F, The Z mount make Nikon's future very bright

you can go to pg 15 to see some shots with 35mm VC f1.7. The lens can be fully usable at f2.8 on Z7 cross frame for landscape and sharp WO for 2/3 of frame.

I've been holding off buying a short-tele lens with AF for my Z7 and wait for this one instead, it looks like the right decision . Apart from the qualities you mentioned I also like the consistency in size and design between the 3 f/1.8 primes in the S line (and also the f/4 zooms).

I’ve been neglecting the VM 28/2 a bit since my VM 40/1.2 Nokton arrived, but do carry it with me wherever I go as it’s so compact. Here are some shots in Baltimore, MD, and Jamestown, VA.

You made a nice decision. I didn't plan to get this because I don't expect to see result like this. Like mentioned, this is a 'high class' glass, a vague term I used when I see something special. For the price, speed and size, this one beat my expectation. I might get 35mm myself as well. It is also the best one out of all competition but I would say this one even more impressive.
The reason I give up 50S is Ieice M 50mm (50lux and newly acquire 50APO) are so strong and small, I almost never left those home when facing selection. For 85mm, I can use some AF

The Z lenses really offer a great blend of between weight, performance and cost. No doubt Nikon is setting themselves apart.
Yes, now they just need bring those 85mm f1.2 AF and 58mmf.095 They are very serious now. The ED glasses and coating used define fringe performance and clarity, this is the differentiate factor between "high class" glass and budget ones nowdays IMHO. Nikon ones are certainly heavier, pricier but performance are truly spectacular. Their Z S-line glasses are really really impressive.

Thank you for these images, they look good to my eyes. couldn’t really zoom in. Is there smearing with the lens on sensor? Trying to see if I need the pcx

Hello again
I've done some further quick tests and something was really wrong with the Commlite adapter. These samples were done with the same lens (Canon 24mm TS-E II), against the same wall, same settings but swapping the Commlite for the Fotodiox Pro adapter: now not only the picture is sharp corner to corner, with no corner smearing whatsoever, but also the whole picture is noticeably sharper, without that haze that produced the Commlite. So now I'm happy again with my TS-E collection!

Well, I've done the first test shots (did you think you were going to get rid of brick wall pictures?) and it's very disappointing. The combo produces a lot of fog (and flares), I guess we can blame the Commlite for this, since the Techart is really short. Also, the lenses focus WAY beyond infinite. Actually, I've never seen such high tolerance in any adapter. But, the most important thing, the Commlite, the Techart, both, or the combo, seem to be badly decentered. I'm posting here two 100% crops (and also the original picture, scaled to web size, for reference) for your consideration, taken with the stellar 24 TS-E Mark II. The left side of the frame seem to be clearly out of focus, smeared or something. It cannot be the lenses, they were perfect the last time I used them and this happens with all of them. It never happened before (adapted to a Sony). Of course, I've double checked that the tilting mechanism was locked. What do you think? Newly, I suspect the Commlite, because the Techart is built to much higher standards and it's much shorter. Now I am going to return the Commlite and to try a Fotodiox (I had zero problems with my former Fotodiox EOS-NEX adapter)... I'll let you how this new combo works...

My family settled this area in the 1880s: Tombstone, Ft. Huachuca, Clifton, Douglas, etc. My grandparents were married in the Tombstone courthouse in 1904.

Here are a few with the Voigtlander 110 f/2.5 APO macro on the Z7 via the tech art adapter. I love this lens and it is great to be able to use it on the Z7.

Hi, in using the Z6 and Z7 for M-mount lenses, is there a difference in performance beyond the inherent differences in the sensors? In other words, if I would prefer the Z6 for the smaller files and lower cost of the camera, am I sacrificing anything when using M lenses?
