The image of the common potoo was so amazing I came back for another look. I have only seen one. It was a captive bird in Costa Rica. When I entered the enclosure, at first I could not find it since it blended into the stump so well. When I finally recognized it, it was so close I could have reached out and touched it. To see a common potoo with a baby in the wild is astounding. That's a great photograph.

All are great but the one of the condor is particularly amazing if shot in the wild.
Where do you find to be the best places to go in Ecuador for bird photography?
Thanks for the nice comments! Yes, the condor was photographed in the wild in Antisana. That is the place to go to get great condor photos. I got this one as it swooped low past me. My only regret is that I wish I had climbed up to the highest point so that I could get a picture against a better background.

Thanks for the second look, Dave. This was in the wild. I had a similar experience as yours. When the guide pointed it out to me, I couldn't locate it because all I initially saw was a stump and so I kept looking into the distance. At that time, the baby was nestling very close to the mother's belly that there were not distinguishable as separate birds. But we were so close that my D500-500mm combo could get only the head of the mother and there was no space to back up. By the time I switched to my 70-200, the baby had moved and I got this.

Really wonderful set of images Amit.
1, 2, 5, 6, 9, and 11 are the standouts for me... but I truly enjoyed seeing each image. Very well done.

Thank you very much for your picks and great comments, Kirk.
