On hot Summer days this Cooper's Hawk likes to get a cool drink and a bath.
Unfortunately it likes to do that in the shade.

Sony ILCE-1 + FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS + 1.4X Teleconverter.

The image is a bit different with another lens and Sunshine on the Hawk.

Sony ILCE-1 + FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS (SEL400F28GM).

The "Shape and Color" images are impressive. They also seem unusual in one respect: the DoF. According to PhotoPills, the hyperfocal distance is 41.8 m at 100 mm and F8 on A7RII. Then, the near limit is ca. 21 m.
Was the camera manually focused at close to the hyperfocal distance to obtain the images?
