You are clearly clooking Geoff. Superb set!
It sounds like they are easy to find. I'd do a road trip yet I be they would hide till I left
Morris
Thanks Morris...you might as well come here so I can return the favour from NY all those years ago...of course that may mean a lack of owls...

This is ridiculously good, Geoff! The top three of the set, 7, and 9 are all super. Quite the successful shoot!

Wow, 300mm and clipped the wings already. Those owls must have been whizzing by very close to you. Awesome captures, Geoff!!
Joshua
Thanks Joshua..a couple times they did get very close as we were standing between two of them and one would fly to the other one that was calling to it...

Terrific set...the Barred Owl is persona non grata in Oregon with USF&WS shooting 3,000 of them as we sit here. They compete and breed with the Northern Spotted Owl.
Thanks....would love to see a NSO....not easy...

Geoff, these are stunning. The degree of difficulty in getting these images is off the chart. Very impressive, albeit it isn’t as though I’m particularly surprised considering your skill level😉.

I was just about to post my very first Barred owl shots I got last week but I think I better wait a week or two.

Very nice series! I recently had a chance to see and photograph this species but nothing close to your images!
Best,
Juan Carlos
Thanks Juan....I'm sure if you lived here you would have just as good or better shots with your skills. I would hope if I lived in CR I could get a Quetzal IF eventually also...it surely helps to have many days/chances with a species to get some decent shots!!
