It's difficult to imaging something like this "in the front yard".
Thank you very much for your kind comment, Phil. Much appreciated!
Yes, we are a little lucky in this regard, having these stunningly beautiful birds landing in our yards. We get flocks of Lorikeets flying through making quite a racket with their chirping! Not only that, but also a number of other parrots, like a King Parrot pair (they are usually in a pair or small family) that visits us each year around sprimg and summer as well.

At this time every year, the Eucalypt in our front yard displays it's orange flowers and the Rainbow Lorikeets come to feed. Always a delight to see.

Thought you might get a chuckle from this. Was at a local wetlands with a friend, walking om a berm alongside a narrow waterway. The waterway reminded me of a drag strip (I'm an old car guy), as it was dead straight, and every so often a bird would suddenly appear behind us and zoom past us, directly over the water.
I decided to capture this action, but was just too slow to acquire any bird as they zoomed past. Resolved to be more alert and finally catch one. Aha, saw this one coming early, swung around and panned with it to get the shot.
Success! I was happy and proud of my skill. It was only when I checked the LCD did I realize that I caught just the reflection and not the bird!
