Nothing special here (the Kingfisher wasn't co-operating as usual ) but thought this was a good example of how the 500PF performs with a TC in good light -- not just any TC but the "problem child" TC20EIII shot wide open, distance about 25m.
The first is the uncropped original followed by a 100% crop -- default conversion using Capture One 20.
Dusted off ol' faithful yesterday afternoon in the backyard...nice to look through an OVF again....shutter sound annoyed me after months of silence though but the birds weren't put off much by it. D500 still has a nice enough sound (as far as DSLRs go) to not be too much of a problem.
Almost deleted this one due to underexposure (the Kingfisher was in light shadow with bright background) but I managed to save it from the virtual trash can. Note the 1000mm focal length -- shot with 500PF+TC20EIII wide open.
