I spotted some Yellow-Rumped Warbles eating berries over the weekend, but try as I might I just could not get any of these guys to venture out of the shade.

Does anyone know if an open-box item will still carry the Nikon warranty?. I snagged an open-box from Crutchfield, and they insisted that Nikon will honor the warranty. Crutchfield is in their authorized dealer list, so thats probably a good sign..
I bought open box 500/4 VR back in 2011 from Adorama. They insisted same thing. I never had an issue with the lens though. So not 100% sure. Nikon usa web site allowed me to register the lens.
I think as long as you can register the lens and have receipt from authorized dealer you are good.
After placing the lens in my shopping cart on LensRental.com several times over a two week period I finally completed the transaction. By the time it arrived this morning the light was pretty harsh, but what an incredible lens. I am used to shooting the Sigma 120-300S and the Sigma 150-600S so the size of this lens was quite shocking. Looking forward to using it over the next week.

Hi Chris. Looks like it will be a good one for you.
I bought a 200-500 from here used. I haven't had a chance to go out with it yet, but playing here in the yard it looks good. I look forward to coming back there next winter.
eta-just remembered I already posted about this. Getting older......
No worries Ernie. I think the 2-5 will be great lens for you. We could use another cold snap up here to extend the season, not sure we'll get it.

Kentucky Warbler, D500 + 500f5.6 PF. A very rare bird in my area, and a nemesis bird for me. I was fortunate that this guy hung around long enough at Point Pelee for me to capture some images of him last May.
