The past few weeks I found an Osprey that was banded in 1995 which makes him almost 23 years old. He is one of the oldest Osprey recorded in the US with the record being 25 years. Average life span is 10-17 years for wild Osprey. He lives and fishes on a quiet tidal stream at the head of a cove. He is quite photogenic and I have been photographing him with my D500 and 300 F2.8 AF-S DII. Wow do I love this lens. The first couple were shot at high ISO because it was quite dark, but I was still able to read the band number and get the report from the bird banding lab. Thanks for looking and comments welcome.
You must have a really good blind setup. I know of a shallows on this river where I see an osprey often sitting, buddy sat there all day moose hunting and that bird would not dive,

I was wearing a partial ghillie and a camo hat sitting on a boulder. This particular Osprey doesn't seem to care much though as there were other people around fishing...
