Must stop reading this thread....since getting the 65/2 it has hardly left the camera body but the longer focal length is certainly enticing......must resist.....damn....
65 is my favourite lens so I know how you're feeling 😉

These are SooC JPEGs, taken with an a7R III. Testing for secondary LoCA. I probably did this all wrong, but I did my best in quick fashion. Hopefully these are good enough to be useful
The CV 110/2.5 does better compared to the CV 125/2.5 in regards to axial CA. In LR, I haven't even seen traces of color aberration yet but there is a built-in profile fore this lens. I will try Capture One.

Well, my copy is well centered like yours Fred. And it seems silly sharp wide open at infinity.

What a find interesting is that there is a minor field curvature at infinity. Usually macro lenses are very flat field. By f/5.6, it gets totally masked.

I only had a chance to look at the wide open shots briefly. Given your eye and the time you’ve had the lens, I have no doubt in your findings.

Is Stephen including a filter with the lens as he normally does with Voigtlander lenses?
I am not too enamoured with the apearance and the focusing ring of the lens. I much prefer the appearance of my Leica 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit and its focusing ring. Additionally, I am not too happy that the aperture ring of the Voigtlander lens operates in the opposite direction of all of my Leica lenses.
How smooth is the focus of the lens? My Leica R 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit focus is like butter. But several years ago Leica USA performed a CLA on the lens and it was reported as being a particularly good performing specimen. Additionally, though I have the substantially smaller and lighter SK 120mm f5.6 Makro Symmar HM lens which I can mount on my Cambo Actus (and performs about equally with my Leica 100mm Apo-Macro-Elmarit), the Leica can also be used with and mounted to the same Leica R lens plate as the SK Makro lens to the Cambo Actus and it offers a substantial image circle. The Voigtlander 110mm f2.5 Apo Lanthar can at least at this time not be mounted to the Cambo Actus since there are no E mount lens plates available. But, perhaps someone will make one in the future. Additionally, I am not sure of the image circle of the new Voigtlander for rise/fall, tilt, and swing.

Thanks guys. I thought that Stephen used advertise that a B&W protective filter was included with voigtlander lenses. Maybe he did this in the past but it is no longer the case.

Considering the 125s limited run, and some difficulty with finding the CV 40/1.2 in stock , what's our guess on the 110s availability when I finally have some money again after purchasing a CV 40? I'm guessing 6-10 months from now I'd be allowed to make another purchase , so I'm guessing it's going to be similar to the 40/1.2 now? Put a deposit in and maybe get one a month after that ?

I like the handling. The lens is very easy to shoot with.
Wearing gloves, I did manage to inadvertently move the aperture ring more than once, as it sits near the mount. I don't think I'd have the same issue with bare hands.
Still not nailing manual focus, but not terrible.
Took some shots around town this afternoon. Nothing fancy.
The first three were shot between F2.5 and F2.8.

Apologies to Stephen/Cameraquest, and anyone else here who I may have offended
I was wrong. Not just in the outcome but my actions. The lens did arrive today, but I wasn't home because USPS said it wasn't going to get delivered until Monday. I should know better than to put any trust in USPS or UPS (FedEx does seem to have more reliable tracking). I was not having the best day, had some recent bad mail order experiences, and took it out here. How old am I? I definitely didn't act my age.
I have dealt with Cameraquest since my Canon days and they have always came through for me (most recently CV21, Loxia 21, CV110 for Sony). Always great product, and on time. Stephen has always been a stand up guy and handled the tough position I wrongly put him in with professionalism. Sorry about that Stephen.

Is Apo Lanthar a design/title allocated to macro lens only? Just curious how this saga Apo Lanthar = best E mount optics may continue in the future...
Cosina has used the APO label for non-macros like the 3.5/90 or 4/180 in the past so there is a good chance I think. Especially that 4/180 would be really handy since there are no compact high performance lenses in that range. The old 4/180 fetches really high used market prices even though it hasa few shortcomings.
