Cameraquest failed! They have free next day shipping posted all over their website but shipped my lens 2day USPS. That means I wont get it, as planned tomorrow, Sat, when I will be home. It will instead come, needing signature, on Monday when I wont be there. Shame on you Cameraquest!

As far as signature, we know of no sellers shipping $1100 items not requiring a signature for delivery.
Its unfortunate that USPS will apparently not delivery your package tomorrow, however we did ship by the express as we promised.

I don't buy it. Two major cities on the West Coast. If anything it made it to the post office to late, showing 4PM. The label was created the night before, so it took too long to get it to the post office. Maybe just an easy way save some money on that order. Regardless, Cameraquest still has the responsibility to ship it with one day postage.

I have no issue with the signature. These were scheduled to ship on Friday with one day shipping. I knew I would be home on Saturday, but not on Monday. I made that calculation when I put in my order on Thursday. It was one of the main reasons for getting my order in on Thursday.

That shop is getiing discussed pretty heavily here, as well as their free overnight shipping. I am just passing along my experience. Not as advertised, and excuses to boot. Shipping label was created Thursday night. There was plenty of time to get this in the mail for Portland OR next day delivery from CA.
Guy and others have posted about thier poor delivery experiences from various places.
Im not saying anymore about it. I wiill be refusing delivery of the lens, since CameraQuest didn't hold up thier end of the bargain. Happily shoot my Sony 90. Peace

Looks like mine is coming Monday as well, I wouldn't be surprised USPS is dealing with holiday volumes. I was hoping to kick the tires tomorrow as we're taking the family up to NYC for Tuba Christmas (my son plays the Tuba.) I guess I need to live vicariously through others for a few more days.

USPS right now I’m sure is just slammed with the holiday. Nothing surprises me here. I asked my UPS driver the other day how things are going. He said it’s already very heavy loads. Every year it seems more folks are shopping on line. Myself I won’t go near a mall right now. Amazon is getting most of our shopping.
I got a 40 coming from NY that’s taking over a week UPS ground that normally would be about 4 to 5 days. I should have waited on stock from cameraquest but I saw in stock on it and a hot item so I jumped. Frankly I would have it right now instead of next Tuesday.

Anyone expecting normal delivery service right now by USPS, UPS, or FEDEX should reconsider how long things do and should take for delivery. Those are just unreal expectations. All 3 delivery companies are I am sure basically at or near capacity for delivery.

I was intrigued by this lens because the CV40 is so great,but not going to bother. I need AF for portraits,and thats all I'd have used it for.

I also ordered the lens. It is scheduled for Monday delivery, but we will see. For those who recently ordered and are disappointed by shipping delays, do consider some folks like me ordered nearly six months ago. It is frustrating to see images from others and not be able to join in the fun, but we need to keep a little perspective as any delays will be minor. The good news is that so far it seems to be a really fine lens. Hopefully, the copy variation will be minimal.
