Truly impressive performance. Can't really tell if it's upper left or lower right as it's so uniform across the field. I wonder how large the image circle this lens has at infinity ...

The extreme corner I posted is from the upper left but it would look just as good in any other corner as the lens is perfectly centered using this test.

I want to get this CV 110mm too. But I need someone to make me a ring that can mount the this CV110 E Mount to my Nikon Z camera first.
Such an adapter would be two milimeters thin, but Novoflex used to make something similar to use Nikon F mount lenses on Canon EF DSLRs, and even accomplished to include a stop down lever to adjust the aperture on Nikon G-type lenses. The Voigtländer FE lenses have rangefinder style mechanical aperture so that would be no problem.
Nikon Z mount is 16mm and Sony FE mount is 18mm flange to sensor distance.

I did an infinity test yesterday but it was raining and my shutter speed was very low, especially when stopping down the lenses.
So, my f/8 crops didn't look optimal and I decided to re-test this on Friday when the sun will hopefully be back here.
However, just as sample here is the CV 110/2.5 @f/2.8 at the extreme corners (1/30s). Mid-field looks great as well with no resolution dip. Just like the 65/2 APO, this lens is flat field.
Fantastic performance and on par with CV 65/2 and Batis 135/2.8.
Some lenses would envy this performance even at center!

Looks really great, Fred.
It seems one can't go wrong with any of the CV 65/2, CV 110/2.5 or the Batis 135/2.8.
I consider the 65/2 a different FL but CV 110 vs Batis 135....well..
The Batis has AF but the Voigtlander has yammy mechanical MF and can do 1:1 Macro. Both are superb APO lenses. Perhaps lenses for different applications.
I prefer the Voigtlander colors though. I didn't really test OOF rendering but they should yield about the same blur quantity.
PS: The Batis is way bigger with the hood but the Voigtlander is 150g heavier.

Not sure you could really go wrong here . Just the few samples are pretty darn impressive and frankly lets face it Cosina has been hitting it out of the park lately.

Yea its going to come down to what you need here. I need the AF and i rarely shoot macro work so for me the Batis 135 makes sense plus im not going to lose my shirt on selling it. I paid full price, if anything the Sigma 105 has more my interest.
Not sure i could get along with just 3 AF lenses for paid work 24,50,105. Thats a little skimpy

I can see a lot of folks going: 21/40/110...Perfect trio spacing going from super wide to telephoto...but as you wrote, may not be ideal for paid work depending on the job.

I currently have the Zeiss 100F2 Makro in this FL range which I like very much but based on what I am seeing I might be adding this lens to my list.
The main advantage here will be 1:1 Macro (Instead of 1:2) and zero LoCA which is not the case with the Zeiss. I believe the new Milvus will be heavier but the ZE/ZF version a bit lighter than the CV 110.

I fully appreciate the difference in FL. My point was about optical performance only. AF and old fashioned MF each have their advantages.
The Voigtländer FE lenses seem like a reincarnation of the old OM system, my first camera system, so they even evoke nostalgia. The focus and aperture rings work in the same directions and are placed the same way. Yes even in the case of the 110/2.5 this is true, if we we look at the old OM 90/2 macro, which had the aperture ring closest to the mount, which was rare in the OM system.

Yes, these three share superb performance at different focal lengths. They are truly APO as well.
The Voigtlander 65/2 and 110/2.5 lenses perform better than the Batis at MFD though. The Batis is great but when adding tubes or close-up lenses, IQ suffers quite a bit.
Talking about close-up lenses, I tested the CV 65/2 APO + Marumi 5 against the 110/2.5 native 1:1 and they performed similarly. That goes to show how great their MFD performance is. The 110 can take the Marumi for even closer magnification. (2:1)
At first I didn't like the aperture ring close to the mount on the 110/2.5 but it's growing on me.

I am looking forward to receiving mine. I will then have to decide whether my herd needs thinning. I have the 85 Loxia, 85 GM, 100 STF, 135 Batis, C/Y 100-300, and now the Voigtlander on order (has been for over five months!). All I need now is to get the Sony 100-400 and the Sigma 105/1.4 and I will be all set, lol.....

You are missing the 90 2.8 macro whats wrong with you? Surely an oversight on your part.lol It is my most used lens followed but my 100-400 GM then 100STF then 70-200GM.
I questioned why I would add the CV 110 with all my lenses and have every GM and Zony lens already.
My reasoning is the bokeh while very good with the 90 macro is bound to be better at 110 and slightly faster aperture.
I do not care much for the 90 macro other than very close up to 10' away typically. My STF is too slow at times for a med tele whereas the CV 110 is perfect at 2.5. My hope was the CV 110 would render and be a very good Batis 135 like lens which according to what Fred has showed us and told us so far it is.
It is not AF or I would dump the 90 but that comes in handy often and with the push pull AF to MF quite handy and it is sharp as a tack.
My Batis 135 is not going anywhere because I do not use it that often but sure have got a lot of stunning images with it.
